Lauren is wearing some of Max's clothes now. Max is having a hard time getting used to it, but she needs clothes so I have been sticking to my guns. I loved this shirt on him. I love it on her, too. :) They both wear it with very different attitude.

Up to Something
I just love this picture, so I felt the need to post it. A friend of mine said she looks like she is up to something. I suspect she is. She is always up to something. :) All that cuteness and tiny package hide a little girl who can get into a lot of trouble. I mean this in a good way, of course. Well, usually...

Her Very Own Car
Max has definitely outgrown his little car, but try telling him that, especially now that Lauren loves it. We have worked hard to use it as a lesson on sharing, but finally admitted reality this weekend and got Lauren her very own. Max was thrilled, and is, of course, playing in hers. Lauren is just happy that no one has pulled her out of the car that she is sitting in yet. Ahhh. A little peace and quiet for mom and dad (well, except for all that horn beeping).

Making Music
I hope this isn't an indication of Lauren's fashion sense. She marched around the house in her hat and jammies, having a grand old time until Cisco tried to join in the fun.

Contemplation
Lauren is not a baby anymore. She is definitely a little girl with a mind of her own (usually bent on doing exactly the opposite of what we want). She is a lot of fun, though, and a bundle of energy and she knows how to have fun. She is a joy to be around, and Max and she love each other.

Dr. Max
Max takes being doctor very seriously and Lauren is a very well behaved patient, for the most part, though she does like to do some of the check up herself. It is amazing to see how accurately Max performs a checkup. For that matter, watching Lauren "take a temperature" or listen to us with a stethascope is pretty amazing too. She does it like she knows what she is doing.

Little Troublemakers
Max and Lauren know how to get into trouble on their own, but they are very good at doing it together, and really enjoy each other's company most of the time, though we do deal with the normal go away, give me that it's mine stuff from Max. Lauren holds her own with him, though. It is fun to watch, even if it isn't fun to clean up after.
I no longer say in a joking voice that Lauren is nothing but trouble, though. Max started saying "We're Troublekids" and doing things that Lauren did like climb on the table or pull the toiletpaper off the roll or knock the laundry on the ground. Luckily for me, as soon as I stopped seeming amused when Lauren did it, Max stopped.
For the most part, though, my little troublemakers make me smile.

Trees!
Lauren likes showing Grampa Richard trees. It was one of her first words (thanks to some coaching, I suspect) and she likes to go around the house and point to all the trees in the painting in our house. Grandma and Grampa came for a visit last week to help out when Max was in the hospital, and the weather was lovely, continuing to hint that Spring is coming (as compared to the snow they are predicting for later this week) and Lauren pointed out all the trees in the yard. We have a lot of trees, so this was quite time consuming. :)

Art Projects
Both Lauren and Max enjoy playing with paints, crayons, markers, and playdough. Lauren love to pull out the playdough and bring it to me. Unfortunately, she still tends to put everything in her mouth, but has gotten to the point where we can put her in a chair with paints and she ends up with at least as much on the paper as on her face and in her mouth. Max has moved from from painting carefully to making as big a mess as I will allow. He especially enjoys finger painting, or foot painting, or entire body painting.

Theresheis!
Lauren loves to play peekaboo, covering her eyes with her hands or a playsilk or shirt and saying "Theresheis!"
And yes, she does have her first black eye. She took a little tumble down Papa's steps. I think it scared Papa and Mommy a lot more than it scared her, though.
