A New Friend

Grampa Richard took Max to a remote control air show. There was a 7 year old boy named Alex there who took Max under his wings (no pun intended) and showed him the ropes. Alex had his own RC car and also flew his father's airplane. He also taught him how to use a light saber. Max loved playing with him. Posted by Picasa

Hanging Out in Maine

Josh surprised me with a night at a bed and breakfast on an island just outside of York, Maine. We all enjoyed it. Max especially enjoyed exploring the rocks and seaweed, finding rocks, checking out the flowers, and seeing the boats and buoys. Posted by Picasa

What is he doing up there?

If it is at all climbable, Max will climb it. He had a blast at the Boston Public Gardens, as well as the park down by the Aquarium. Posted by Picasa

Fun on the Swan Boats

We went into Boston this weekend to meet with Uncle Peter, Aunt Tracey, the girls, Uncle Scot, Aunt Sally, and Peter and Scot's cousin and her family. We had a great day that started with a ride on the Swan Boats, which the kids and Josh had never done before. Everyone really enjoyed it. Posted by Picasa

Look at me go!

Okay, I couldn't resist and had to post a picture of him riding the bike, too. Posted by Picasa

This is how you do it.

I had intended to post a picture of Max riding his new bike (well, new to him, we got it for 2 dollars at a garage sale), but how could I resist this picture of 6'3" Josh riding the smallest bicycle I have ever seen.

Max was so thrilled about having his own bike that he wants to ride it all the time, even if it is pouring rain out. He is getting pretty good at peddling, though he does better going down the hill than up. He has taken his share of falls, but he always gets right back up ready to try again. Posted by Picasa

Standing!

Not only has she mastered pulling herself up to a stand, she has started cruising around the furniture. We really thought we had another couple of months before this. She is enjoying herself, though. She loves Max's Leapfrog table. Max has finally started to willingly share it with her, too. First she wears his cloths, now she plays with his toys. This has been a hard adjustment. Posted by Picasa

Yay! Cheerios!

Well, she is still pretty skinny, and the docs don't want us to feed her solids, but you tell that to her. She is very happy eating when we eat, so we give her pieces of avocado, banana, sweet potato, etc. to enjoy. We tried Cheerios the other day, and as you can see, she loved them. She actually got a lot of them into her rather than on her lap, too. Posted by Picasa

Changing Daily

I swear that Lauren looks different every time we take pictures. Who does she look like now? People keep telling me she looks like Max, but I don't really see it. Her face is getting rounder, which hopefully means she is gaining some weight. She got her first tooth last Friday, so the toothless grin will not be around much longer. (Teething hasn't seemed too difficult for her so far.) Posted by Picasa Oh, and did I report that she is cruising? She is going to wear me out.

Future Photographer

Max loves taking pictures, and it actually getting pretty good at it. He just needs to learn to keep the camera still. He takes the picture ("Smile, Mommy!") and then looks at the display to see how he did, and tells me what he sees. Posted by Picasa
