Tea Party

One of Max's favorite things to do when visiting Papa and Grandma Lyd is to have a tea party. He loves setting it up and having the dolls enjoy the tea.

Grandma Lyd has some of the best toys. She is a speech pathologist and works with kids Max and Lauren's age, and her house is full of great things that she uses for work.

What Lauren Gets to Do When Mommy isnt' Around

Hmmm. I think these pictures tell a story that Daddy didn't share. She is a pretty resilient little girl, though. No fear and doesn't mind falling. She usually gets up, says "I okay" just like her brother did at that age, and keeps on going.

Tidal Pools

When I was a girl, one of the things that I loved the most was to go to the ocean and look in tidal pools. We got to share that with Max for the first time last weekend, during a visit to Papa and Grandma Lyd's.

I included the second picture just because Lauren looks cute in it.

There Were Three in the Bed

Cousin Sophie outgrew her toddler bed and moved into a cool new set of bunk beds with her sister, and was kind enough to lend the bed to us. Lauren loves it.

Making Music Together

Josh's sister gave us her piano, and the kids are really enjoying it. Amazingly enough, they don't just pound in it, but almost seem to be making music, especially Max. This picture is actually a fairly rare occurrence as Max is rather unlikely to share the bench with Lauren. Because the piano arrived on the day of his birthday party, he kind of thinks it is his.

King of the Hill

Cisco like to stand lookout on the big rock in front of the camp. He stares at the water, looking for ducks and other things. He still won't swim, though.

Who Are You Calling Old?

Diamond has definitely slowed down, but she can still hold her own with Cisco. She just doesn't race around the yard like he does. But, she loves a great wrestling match. And yes, she always wins.

A Prince in His Castle

Cisco has taken to going under the kids slide structure. He likes to dig in the dirt and then lie down in there. Diamond has started doing it too. It is probably cooler in there, especially with freshly dug earth. We are not all that pleased with the digging, but you can't really blame them for wanting to keep cool on these warm days.

Fun in the Pool

We have been spending much of our time in the backyard, playing in the kiddie pool and the sprinkler. For some reason, a plastic bowl ended up in the yard one day, and I ended up bring out a second when the kids started using them to dump water on top of each other. Max's face says it all. They were having a ton of fun.

I'm Flying!

The title says it all. Who would have guessed that the propeller hat would bring so much joy, especially on windy days.

Pretty

We celebrated Max's birthday today. I wrote a long post about it on his blog (link is on the right), but I wanted to post this beautiful picture of Lauren in the dress a friend made for her, playing with bubbles.
